Hard to believe that another week is over. Time flies when you are having fun I guess! Hannah completed her 2nd week of summer camp and is doing great. She got a report card from her teacher who was very pleased. She is starting to interact more with the other children and even has 2 sort of friends. She especially likes her music classes and loves the class bunny. She took home a bag full of artwork and that is improving as well. I am very proud of her!
I took Ivan to the pediatrician again. He failed his hearing test for the low tones and they wanted to rule out an ear infection. Well, Ivan did have some fluid in his ears and a lot of wax built up which she cleaned out. A course of antibiotics and some eardrops had to take care of the rest. I guess it did hinder his hearing quite a bit because it is amazing how much his speech has improved over the last week. He actually tries to repeat what we are saying and manages dog, cat, car, opa, oma, tessa and is close to others. Opa and Oma have been working with him during rides in the car. We also show him 'your baby can read' videos, not so much for the reading part but more for the words and songs. He loves songs and music.
He is also doing great on the potty training. It is all going spontaneously and if we pay attention we can keep him dry the whole day. Quite amazing!
Anyway, since they both love music, we'll be looking for a music class when we get to Maryland. I saw a few great possibilities
I have been looking for schools already as well and again there are several options. Marc will go visit some schools when he is in DC on the 15-17th. He will also looks for some housing. It is exciting and it all is becoming more and more real. Scary too because there is still so much to be done before that time but we have made a start.
Again the kids had some great time in the little pool. This $19 thing has been more than worth its money!
We also played in the park with another boy adopted from Russia last year and his sister. They both enjoyed being in the park. It has been a while since the weather is pretty steamy and it has been raining cats and dogs a lot the last week.
Marc and I also had a first since March 4, when we offically became a family. We went out for dinner to gether while my parents took care of Hannah and Ivan. It was a super evening and both kids did very well. Thanks so much for the help, opa en oma!
Tonight we have a pool party and it will be the first time in the big pool Especially Hannah is very excited, especially since mama and papa can go in the pool as well!! So far all pools/baths have been to small for the whole family. I am curious to see how they will do! More on that next week.
Oh, we had one more first this week. Marc felt like doughnuts this morning and bought a box (we do that maybe once a year). Hannah had a great encounter with doughnuts with sprinkles and for once she was the dirties of the 2!
