Yesterday was our 6 months post placement visit. It is hard to believe that we are already coming up to 6 months and at the same time, it feels like Hannah and Ivan have been in our family forever.
In the morning we went to the pediatrician to get the forms filled out. Both kids got a clean bill of health, they both grew an inch since late June and gained about a pound. that was right on track for Hannah. For Ivan it was less but since he had gained 5 pounds between mid april and late June it was actually a good thing. He is now almost the right weight for his height.
the visist with the social worker went very well. It really was not a big deal at all. Lots of questions about our relationship with the kids, our concerns, the daily routine etc. She wanted to see the room and see the kids of course. Ivan was his own bubbly self and was showing off all his skills without us even having to ask for it. Hannah unfortunately fell asleep 10 minutes before the social worker arrived and was pretty groggy when we woke her up but she was willing to show her room. Not much talking from her side though.
Anyway, we are good to go for the next six months! Tomorrow Hannah will start pre-school and Ivan will be in an home based day care. They are both excited which makes going to work so much easier. We are really lucky parents!
Wow....I cannot believe it's approaching 6 months either! Sounds like they are two happy, healthy, and much loved kiddos!!!
