Our last day in Moscow!

Yes, today is our last day in Moscow.  Tomorrow we are flying back to the US.  Again, mixed feelings.  Moscow is such a wonderful, lively city with so much culture and history. I could definitely stay here for a while.  But it will be so wonderful to live in a house again and get some sort of a rhythm going. Especially here in Moscow it has been hard to get a routine going with 4 people in one room compared to the suite at the VMI.  I can't wait to see Hannah and Ivan play outside, take them for walks around the lake and of course have them meet our friends and play with the kids of our friends.  There is no family in Baton Rouge for us. But......on April 19th my parents will come for a 2 months visit.  Both Marc and I as well as my mam and dad are super excited.  We'll go see Marc's family in Dallas for a weekend or so later in the summer as well and of course there will be our annual trip to Europe where the rest of my family can meet our new addition to the family.  

We will sign up Hannah for gym classes at the little gym or gymboree and probably for summer camp at the school around the corner from our house.  You can do that on a week to week basis and it will be good for her before she'll go to pre-school in the fall. As for Ivan, we will probably sign him up for gym as well (parents will participate in the class) but he has to be completely potty trained before he can go to the weekly camp.  We'll work on that when we get back home.  Hotel life and not having luggage for a week made that we have paid very little attention to potty training. But Monday we'll jump right back to that.

My mother-in-law asked me if it felt that we have been away from Baton Rouge for a long time and when thinking about it I would have to say 'no'.  There has not been one day since we left that I have been counting days.  Every day since we left has been wonderful (except for the very first day when we missed all our flights and had no luggage in the end. But I have almost forgotten about that day) in one way or another.   The families in the VMI were great company.  No matter how great friends you have, to be able to talk to people who have been through the same process is absolutely priceless.  I am sure we'll stay in touch with most if not all of them.

I am very happy we got the children right after court so we have had a lot of time to get to know eachother before getting on the plane to Moscow. It is wonderful to discover their personalities and see them warm up to us more and more every day.  To get to know their little quirks.  

So... this will be the last blog entry from Russian grounds.  The next will come from Baton Rouge LA.
