After about 60hrs without a bed in sight, we made it to the Vlad Motor Inn Safe and sound. Without luggage, which is hanging around somewhere between London and Moscow, but that will hopefully show up soon.
But... the good news was that we got to see you little brother and sister right away when we arrived and......we get them from the orphanage at noon tomorrow (thursday) right after our 10am court!!! So... that made up for all the travel trouble. Luckily Marc and I were smart enough to pack our court close and one other change of clothes in our hand luggage so with a washing machine we can make it for a while. Unfortunately the kids will have to wear orphanage clothes for a little longer since we only have their hat and gloves and we'll have to pick up some things for them to play with. Luckily, the hotel has toys as well and there are several other kids here (Yes,I got to meet Donna and Jason Porter and their adorable little Aubrey!!!) Gotcha day pictures will have to wait a few days.
Both kids had grown a lot and changed quite a bit. They are doing great and are healthy. They were shy at first but did warm up to us and neither one wanted to go back to group. We can't wait till tomorrow.
Oksana is busy today so we'll have lazy day today and catch up on sleep, get some groceries and relax. Sounds like a great plan to me!

ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!! I am so glad you will be able to get the children right away as it sure help for the bounding time prior to fly to Moscow. So sorry about your luggage and your guys must be so tired! Well I am guessing with the time change you maybe already in bed and resting for tomorrow court date! So much memories! Well you know at best! Ha! So glad too you are able to meet the Porter family and Audrey and other families as they will become your family away from home! SO so happy for your guys!!! Can't wait for pick! Say hello to Marc and the kids!!!

ReplyDeleteGood job packing your court clothes on your carry on! That is wonderful that you'll be getting the kids right away, it doesn't seem to happen too much anymore. I bet it was a terrific reunion :o) Hope court is smooth sailing.
